Description

You will make 3 kinds of Sushi (Nigiri Sushi, Gunkan Maki, and Rolled Sushi) in this 2.5 hours hands-on experience at the professional cooking studio! This class also gives you how to make traditional Japanese soup stock ‘Dashi’ that contains a lot of Umami, and make miso soup from it.

The location is usually open as a Japanese restaurant for the local people, so there is enough space for every participant. However, the class is limited to a small group of up to 14 people, and depends on the number of the participants, one or more instructors will be assigned to the class so that the instructor can pay personalized attention for each participant.

You will learn not only how to make sushi but also experience making miso soup, rolled egg for sushi, and Yakitori chicken skewered. This would definitely be one of the most unforgettable experiences in your trip to Osaka!

At the beginning of this class, the instructor shows you a short video that walks you through what you'll cook and overviews the steps in general including a little bit about the history of sushi. Then wearing original Kimono style apron and the class starts at making on your own sushi rice. Your instructor provides a wooden tub and paddle for each participant so that you can make your own sushi rice separately.

Next, everyone participates together to make rolled eggs for egg sushi with a rectangle-shaped frying pan. After that, making traditional Japanese stock ‘Dashi’ then make Miso soup with fancy shaped vegetables and tofu.

In this experience, you make 3 kinds of Sushi (9 nigiri-sushi, 2 gunkan-maki, and 1 rolled-sushi). All the ingredients (10 kinds of high quality sushi fish) are all included in this activity! Besides, you skewer the Chicken and making Yakitori, too.

At the end, place the dishes, along with chopsticks and let's say “Itadakimasu”! Please enjoy the meal you made served with the complimentary Japanese beautiful Wagashi sweets that express the season. Several kinds of alcohol drinks can be offered as an option around 640 JPY per glass upon your request.

Sakura cook is conveniently located 1 min from "Hommachi” Station which is the center of Osaka city, and is the midway point of Osaka (Umeda) Station and Namba Station. If you come by subway, please use the exit No.22 of the Hommachi Station.
