Description

Visit Kyoto as it's bathed in autumn colors on this day trip from Osaka. The tour bus will conveniently take you around seven attractions which would be extremely difficult to do on your own during peak visiting season.

Begin by exploring Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine followed by three temples - Komyo-ji, Tofukuji & Nanzenji - before moving onto Philosopher's Path and then Arashiyama for a stroll and a boat cruise. The tour then returns to Osaka.

This tour only runs a handful of dates from mid~late November so book now to avoid disappointment!

The tour sets off from Osaka with several departure times depending on where you want to start: Tennoji (06:55) / Namba OCAT (07:05) / JR Osaka & Shin-Osaka (07:35). Look forward to a busy day of autumn leaves sightseeing appreciating the colors in seven different settings.

Kick off the morning at Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine on the western edge of Kyoto and one of the best kept secrets of Kyoto. With visitors yet to discover this beautiful shrine, have a leisurely stroll around the "Garden of Fall Foliage" for 25 minutes.

Next up is Komyo-ji Temple, which is known for its beautiful red colored maple trees that surround the approach leading to the Main Hall and Amida Hall. You will have around 50 minutes to wander around the 70,000 square meter site which will be tinged in wonderful autumn colors.

The tour continues onto Tofukuji Temple, the second of the three temples on the itinerary in the southern part of Kyoto. Expect large crowds here as Tofukuji is one of the more famous autumn leaves viewing spots. The Tsutenkyo Bridge is the most popular part of the temple which boasts wonderful views of the maple trees on either side of the valley. Spend an hour here appreciating the colors as well as the surviving Zen architecture.

Nanzenji Temple completes the trio of temples which is another popular autumn leaves viewing spot with colorful trees dotting the spacious grounds and gardens. The temple is also known for the odd sight of an aqueduct passing through its grounds. Nanzenji is located on the southern end of the Philosopher's Path (Tetsugaku no michi), a pretty stone path following a canal and the next destination on the tour. Enjoy the leaves on the trees that line along the path, that reflect off the water's surface and those that have fallen on the path to create a red carpet. You will spend a combined time of an hour at both spots.

The final stop of the tour is Arashiyama, one of the most popular districts of Kyoto. In mid to late November, the surrounding mountains and trees around the area burst into reds, yellows and golds so beautiful that Arashiyama is known nationwide as a prime viewing spot. Enjoy the leaves from two different angles: via the streets as you explore on foot for half an hour and then via the river on a boat cruise for another 30 minutes.

With the sightseeing wrapped up, board the bus one final time as it heads back to Osaka. Scheduled arrival is anywhere between 18:00~19:30.
